Work In Progress

20/02/17

23/02/17

We showed our 2nd attempt to our target audience, 2 males in our class both 16 boys. Despite the lack of sound which one of them picked up on, they said the cinematography and idea was on the whole very good. Obviously, the piece still has a long way to, they couldn't criticize or compliment much. One thing however was the faded scene when he's standing up, this could be polished and re-worked, work has already began on this however.
We're very pleased that the concept works this time and hope to put it into practise.

Liam (left) favourite genre is horror, he said despite our movie being an action/drama he enjoyed the enigmas and uncertainty of his jeopardy.

Ruben (right) said he loved the idea of the film, he enjoys the emotion behind drama films but also liked a bit of action, our hybrid perfectly suited his needs, he also said many of his friends would enjoy the movie so it seems we are appealing to our target audience.

I've began adding in the titles, and refining the editing making it smoother. We still need to film some extra shots to fufill the timeslot and will do it this weekend.

27/02/17
Added some titles and removed unneeded scenes.

28/02/17
finished adding the titles but still all rough and no sound!!!!

We showed this sequence to another 16 year old lad called Jack. He was genreallly impressed by the film and enjoyed the cinematography and titles. Yet the lack of sound and grainy quality was definatley something to improve.

28/02/17
Finshed sound just editing it in. Made a few small changes

We showed this version to the class (16-17 both genders) and they had their say:

Pros.
The mixture of diegetic and non-diegetic sounds are awesome.
The cinematography is great.
The editing is good.

Cons.
The SFX of the ringtone is too long.
Need to make it longer with more footage.
The titles are overly done.

3/03/17
I've put into the effect the changes and remembered to add the sound.

HD VERSION

We posted our video on social media sites such as Snapchat, Reddit and Facebook, and asked others for feedback, here is what they had to say:

The mise-en-scene, particularly the setting and makeup, is great and the sound is decent.
Although the piece could be longer and fufill the 2minute criteria

That was good. There were some really nice camera angles and transitions in there.
My only real criticism is about the ringtone. It sort of interferes with the dramatic soundtrack, and the volume was also a bit too high. It's important to find a balance between diegetic and non-diegetic sound

Editing was great and so was the camera. However it needs to be longer and the ringtone seemed to go on for too long.

Changed around the scene order and add animation and sound FX to the beginning ident. I also have another ident on the way.
